NONOS OS (Community Edition) - FREE:

The core NONOS operating system is free to download and use for anyone. We believe basic cybersecurity should be accessible to all, so the fundamental secure OS doesn’t cost a thing. You can download updates at no charge, and there’s no license fee for running NONOS on your personal devices. The project is open source as well, so you’re truly free to use and even modify it under the terms of our open-source license. Our community edition is fully featured in terms of security; you’re not getting a “crippleware” version, it’s the real deal that you can rely on without paying us a penny.

Official NONOS USB Drive - Hardware Purchase:

If you choose to buy the official pre-loaded USB device (with the secure element), that is a one-time hardware purchase. We price it as affordably as possible (currently in the ballpark of $50 USD per device). This gets you the plug-and-play convenience and extra hardware security. Purchasing the official USB is completely optional, you can still use NONOS with your own USB sticks if you prefer, but it’s a popular add-on for those who want the best experience. We may offer standard and premium models (for example, a version with more storage or a display might cost a bit more). The price primarily covers the cost of the specialized hardware components and helps support the project.

NONOS Pro (Subscription) - Paid Software Tier:

NONOS Pro Edition is offered on a subscription basis. For individual users or small teams, we have a simple monthly or annual subscription that unlocks Pro features on your NONOS devices. While final pricing is subject to change, we anticipate it to be on par with other professional software tools (for instance, on the order of $10 per month for a single user license). This fee gives you access to advanced features, priority updates, and professional support. We also typically provide a free trial period (e.g., 30 days) so you can evaluate Pro features before committing. Discounts may be available for students or non-profits, as we want even those with limited budgets to benefit from advanced security.

Enterprise Licenses - Custom Pricing:

For larger organizations, we offer enterprise licensing agreements. These are tailored to the scope and needs of the deployment. Enterprise contracts often involve bulk provisioning of NONOS Pro across many devices, dedicated support staff, and possibly on-premise solutions (like an update server or custom integrations). Pricing at this level is negotiated case-by-case, but to give an idea, an enterprise might invest $50k-$100k per year for a package covering hundreds of seats with full support. This is in line with enterprise support models seen in the industry (for example, companies pay for Red Hat Enterprise Linux support despite the base OS being free). Enterprise packages may also include additional services like security audits, custom feature development, and training sessions, which factor into the pricing.

Community Contributions - Voluntary:

While not a pricing category per se, it’s worth noting that because the core OS is free, we welcome community contributions. Some users or companies choose to sponsor the project or donate if they find value in NONOS and want to ensure its sustainability. We also have merchandise and perhaps a token-based reward system (in development) for community members who contribute (like running nodes in the mesh network or helping with development). These are optional and meant to foster a healthy ecosystem around NONOS.
